Themed decorations

Themed decorations are a wonderful way to add colour and excitement to almost any occasion. Classic themes are normally produced using a wide variety of props and costumes.

Some theme names are Casino, Chinese New Year, Circus, Cirque du Soleil, Cockney Night, Disney, English Garden, Egyptian and so on. The props are normally acquired from specialised themed events supply companies who are keen to deliver the items direct to the event venue. The best way to theme any event is to start with a star cloth drape around the room to create atmosphere. From there it is best to thoughtfully position all the various themed props to show them off to their best advantage. In a recent event exploding balloons were used and colours of the small balloons inside them were designed to reflect the colour scheme used in the clients logo.

Sometimes a colour scheme is the theme rather than a specific subject. In a James Bond theme one could use an ice sculpture in the shape of a gun or 007, plus a large backdrop depicting fast cars, casinos, dice and playing cards. Other methods of transforming your venue can include entertainment, flowers, lighting, and balloon decorations and marquee drapes to cover up an otherwise dull interior. Coloured up lighters can be used to give more atmosphere.

For a recent winter wonderland themed event, giant Christmas trees were created made from christmas balloon decorations. The trees were wrapped in tulle, tinsel, lights and artificial snow was added for effect. There were also giant snow balls suspended from the ceiling - these were detonated by remote control to make it appear to be snowing. This is a very good theme to use for New Years Eve decorations.There are always new ways to theme with decorations and props and almost any idea can be catered for. It just takes a little imagination!
